Misty Copeland is a dance pioneer and incredibly inspiring.  Copeland who is mixed is a leading soloist for American Ballet Theatre.  She is the first woman of color to perform as a soloist lead.  She recently published Firebird—a picture book co-authored by Misty Copeland and writer/illustrator/Caldecott Medalist Christopher Myers–a great holiday gift.
