I was so excited to learn about this documentary about a woman who has found her mixed roots that lead to both Jamaica and China. Finding Samuel Lowe: From Harlem to China is the story of Paula Madison’s “African-American” family and its roots that lead back to China. “I think it’s a truly universal story,” Madison is quoted as saying. “It’s about a daughter who longed for her father and kept that love through her children. It’s about a story of love that transcended race.”
It’s airing in Toronto, but I think it might be a good fit for the 2015 Mixed Remixed Festival. What do you think?–Heidi Durrow
